FM40 STYLE | PERFECT COSY KNIT FROM THE &OTHERSTORIES

December .....is such a hectic month for the dairy ... but I love it. Crisp cold days full to the brim with activities such as Christmas shopping, carol singing in your village, school nativity plays, visiting Father Christmas and just simply wrapping presents and writing cards with a hot chocolate and to really feel festive for all the above all you need is a cosy knit.

So, my third and final choice from & Other Stories was this chunky oversize sweater, perfect for December weekends. This saw me through the whole of last Sunday, 2 hours of rugby layered with my parka, then home for hot chocolates and homework. Then, a blissful family dog walk followed by a Sunday roast in the pub with a glass of red ...... Sunday perfection.

This sweater is perfect for being layered over and under ...... here I wore it as my outer layer with a long sleeved thermal black t-shirt underneath.

FM40 STYLE | CHRISTMAS SCHOOL EVENT INSPIRATION

Coat - Massimo Dutti (old) | Blouse - Hush Rita Printed Shirt | Jeans - Topshop | Boots - Isabel Marant (cheaper alternative here ) | Bag - Chanel (old)

Today I am giving you some inspiration for school Christmas events such as Nativity plays, carol concerts ...... I normally go for my normal attire of jeans, but maybe smarten myself up with a nice blouse, like this from Hush Homewear and a wool tailored coat rather than my 'mum coats" ..... I simply adore this grey coat  ...... gorgeous.

My two are performing on Thursday morning, L is an Angel and N is in the choir ...... I think this could be an emotional one. I may wear the above outfit that I wore on Tuesday to meet my friend for lunch ..... it was one of those you put together and think hey I like this combo.

FM40 STYLE | CHRISTMAS PARTY LOOK INSPIRATION

1 | 2 | 3 | 4

The biggest party weekend is approaching .... still have nothing to wear????? Well a little black dress is always a safe bet and make it velvet this year, which is absolutely a huge trend this A/W. I actually ordered the above dress back in October, I was having a fat day and it got returned very hastily ...... regrets .... you bet! It is now sold out most places, but fear not both Boden and Mango have done fabulous velvet wrap dresses, here and here.

I would style this style of dress with statement earrings such as these from Warehouse and how about these shoes from my favourite Sarah Jessica Parker, I just loved Sex & the City loved, loved, loved it!    Yes, SJP has her own shoe collection available here. OK, they are not high street prices, but not as expensive as I initially thought they would be and every pair you could see proudly sat in Carrie's closet.
