FM40 STYLE | SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND

I thought I would give you some off-duty inspo  ..... and something that always works is stripes, denim and a khaki jacket.

I really love this jacket (one of Olivia Palmero Banana Republic spring picks), military jackets can sometimes be a bit boyish, but the frill sleeve on this one just gives it a nice girly touch.

Have a wonderful weekend

FM40 STYLE | HUSH LOVE JUMPER

H U S H  S / S  2 0 1 7  C O L L E C T I O N

The spring/summer collections are now hitting the shops and appearing online, one collection I normally do like to look at is Hush. There are quite a few things that caught my eye, particularly this jacket, this top in both colour-ways (very Ba&sh) and this pretty summer dress

One jumper is very trans-seasonal and can be worn a number of ways, with just a change of shoe. I know many of you got this jumper in the winter, but for those who didn't ..... what are you waiting for! If you can't stretch to Bella Freud then this is the perfect alternative to her slogan sweaters.

Those jeans by Hush look quite promising and they come in two really nice shades for the summer.

P.S I do LOVE those Chloe Lauren flats - have you seen these cheaper look-a-likes?

FM40 STYLE | MODERN RARITY

one | two | three | four | five | six |

M O D E R N  R A R I T Y

John Lewis launched their own clothing label called Modern Rarity last autumn with great success and the new S/S collection is now live online and in stores. Modern Rarity in their own words is
"Dedicated to design, devoted to quality. Luxury refined" ........ which sounds right up my street!

I have been drawn to the collection on my visits to John Lewis as the colours are stunning, soft and elegant and I have been compelled to touch and feel the luxe fabrics.

The collection perfectly bridges the ever-present gap between high street and designer. The collection is full of cashmere, Italian knits, silk, Irish linens, pretty chiffon and smart tailoring that will perfectly compliment any capsule wardrobe and you will treasure beyond one season. You can read a little more about the collection here in an interview with John Lewis Womenswear Design Manager, Iain Ewing.

There's also a collaboration with Palmer//Harding, the central Saint Martins trained duo who have brought a contemporary edge to the simple shirt, the winter version sold out pretty quickly, so act fast if you fancy one! This one is my favourite, it would be a perfect add-on to your capsule wardrobe.... looking elegant with black cigarette trousers and heels or cool with jeans and trainers.

What do you think of Modern Rarity? Will you be adding it to your shopping list? It definitely fits my mantra of  "buy less, buy better".
